For all our students, our international links provide ongoing opportunities for study abroad. Many of our students choose to study for a couple of weeks, or even a whole term, at one of the other IES or SEK schools. (If you have paid your fees at St John’s you can study free of charge at any of the other IES schools). Strong relationships between the schools and the similarity of the curriculum mean that the transition between one school and another is as seamless as possible. Our students don’t even need to worry about ‘standing out’ in different clothes because we all wear the same uniform. These experiences are highly valued by all who decide to take up the opportunity. Over recent years we have had a number of students studying at Boca Prep in Florida and Hout Bay in Cape Town for up to a term.
For more information about our Study Abroad programme, please contact Mr Larter who will be happy to discuss the options available for our students.
Every other year our Senior students are able to take part in InterSEK – a sporting or cultural competition/exchange attended by all the IES and SEK schools. Recent hosts have included Ecuador, Paraguay and Dominican Republic. A team from St John’s combines with other IES schools from the UK to send a delegation of students who will experience these amazing cultural or sporting programmes. For more details about the forthcoming InterSEK please contact Mr Burgess.
